On March 11th, 2020, the COVID Pandemic was declared. Nine days later, on March 20th, I met with the Homeowners for an initial meeting at a new property they were contemplating on buying. I had worked with the clients on three other properties, and they wanted a house on the ocean. Within a few weeks, another house was added to their portfolio, and we added another project to the list.

The property afforded ocean views from almost every room plus a beach to call their own. We were given thirteen weeks to transform this house from the mundane to the memorable. Nothing was left untouched. Every floor, wall, ceiling, inside and out was part of the transformation.

The job was Herculean. Teamwork and understanding deadlines from every Trade and sub-contractor who was on board worked seamlessly to meet a July 7th deadline.

Because COVID, manufacturers of home furnishings shut down across the country. Cargo ships sat idle in ports across the world. Warehouses were shuttered. Staffing was at a minimum. The supply chain came to a screeching halt.

The client’s wish was for us to create a cottage-like aesthetic, a relaxed, casual, and inviting setting. This home is their own personal piece of heaven away from the pressure driven corporate world.

On July 7th, with only a few hours before the clients arrived, the project was completed. Several hours later, the client called and when asked if everything was okay, their response was, “We love it, we love everything. Thank you for giving us everything we wanted”
